Tender Years Preschool and Childcare began as more than just a business, it began as a mother’s dream. Over 40 years ago, Sandy Waren started Tender Years as a way to be present for her daughter, Angela, while also doing what she loved: caring for children.
As a single parent, Sandy built her licensed in-home daycare with purpose, love, and a deep belief in the importance of the early years. What started as a small act of devotion has grown into a trusted and beloved program for families across San Rafael.
Today, Sandy is not only a lifelong educator, she’s also a proud grandmother to three beautiful girls: The same nurturing spirit that guided Sandy as a mom now continues in her role as a grandmother and educator.
At Tender Years, we care for children from newborn to age five in a warm, home-like environment where play, learning, and love go hand in hand. Under Sandy’s calm and caring guidance, each child is seen, supported, and celebrated. Tender Years is more than a preschool, it’s a family legacy, built on love and growing bright futures. 💛
